About The Position

CLA is seeking an Internal Operations Intern for its Minneapolis location for Winter 2027. The anticipated start date is January 2027, and the anticipated end date is April 2027. The intern will provide operational support for tax-related work, including organizing and processing client documents, preparing materials for routing, assembling tax returns, and assisting the team with deadlines and final delivery steps. The role is suited to someone working toward a bachelor’s degree who is willing to learn new technologies and can use Microsoft Windows and Office products.

Requirements

Working toward a bachelor’s degree; an Accounting or Finance degree is strongly preferred.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

Review and organize incoming client tax documents.
Assist with intake of tax information and prepare it for routing.
Track client documents and keep them current.
Organize, scan, and process tax documents.
Assemble client tax returns following established procedures.
Assist the team in meeting government deadlines.
Perform e-filing and other final delivery steps.
Prepare informational tax documents as needed.
Provide general operational support and complete other responsibilities or tasks as requested.
