About The Position

The Internal Multimedia Designer is responsible for supporting the graphic design needs of Technology & Operations (T&O) including the Chief Operating Office, Transformation and Enterprise Operations (TEO) and T&O Corporate Communications. The successful candidate will be part of a small team of Designers, working collaboratively with stakeholders across RBC and will be responsible for creating digital assets, infographics and intranet site design, as well as print and promotional collateral for internal communications, and designing engaging and compelling videos, recording and editing video clips with RBC employees including executives, to drive understanding and awareness of T&O strategy and employee engagement. Design compelling video and motion graphics, digital assets and print collateral and infographics to be hosted on intranet sites and shown at internal events. Create user-friendly internal RBC web experiences for T&O Design Hub and other internal sites. Design support for communications, events, and innovation programs, and some minor HTML/CSS editing for internal intranet sites.

Requirements

  • Proficient at using the Adobe suite of design programs including Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop.
  • Occasional HTML/CSS editing, and designing presentation slides and branded templates in PowerPoint for events.
  • Experience in online, email, print layout and design including brochures, posters and other corporate collateral, and event design.
  • Capable of following direction and adhering to brand standards, while also being a motivated self-starter who can manage timelines, debate design philosophies and easily adapt to an ever-changing workflow.
  • Able to take existing copy and briefs and improve upon them to ensure that your design aesthetic and the copy work seamlessly together.

Nice To Haves

  • Motion graphics experience or filming.
  • Experience with print production, eg dielines.
  • Vector Illustration skill.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver graphic design work and visual materials utilizing specific graphic design, web development, and animation/sound processing tools.
  • Interpret customers' design needs into feasible graphic design ideas and information; provides recommendations in the graphic design process.
  • Participate in the collection of customer needs for graphic design work and gives suggestions to senior management on the implementation of strategic plans for graphic design.
  • Research and shares social media resources and information to facilitate the graphic design process within a team; stays abreast on technological advances within the field.
  • Conceptualizing and creating high quality visual content to support internal communications.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders (including executives) to effectively manage the creative design and execution for internal Communications campaigns & initiatives.
  • Identifying Existing Communications for Optimization through Graphic Design & Video Creation Intake management through the Design Hub and brand standards.
  • Ensuring all internal visuals are consistent in order to provide a strong T&O brand experience for employees.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure print and promotional material meet brand and quality standards.
  • Create user-friendly internal RBC web experiences for intranet sites, with occasional HTML/CSS editing.
  • Create high quality presentation slides for executive events using Powerpoint.
