About The Position

Cladda is seeking a board-certified (or board-eligible) Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist to join our specialty team. This is a chance to build and shape an internal medicine service within a supportive, well-equipped emergency and specialty hospital — working alongside emergency clinicians, and other specialty services to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with completion of an accredited internal medicine residency
• Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM) preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged to apply
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills
• A team-oriented approach and interest in helping grow a new or developing specialty service
• Active or eligible veterinary license in Virginia

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex medical patients, including endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, hepatic, hematologic, infectious, and immune-mediated disease
• Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics (ultrasonography, endoscopy, cytology, etc.)
• Collaborate closely with our emergency and surgery team on shared and transferred cases, and with other specialty services on multidisciplinary cases
• Build and mentor a technical support team dedicated to internal medicine
• Participate in client communication and referring veterinarian relationships, serving as a resource for the local DVM community
• Contribute to case rounds, mentorship of emergency clinicians, and ongoing development of hospital protocols
