About The Position
Internal Medicine Residency Program Director Mercy Medical Center | Aurora, Illinois Mercy Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and committed Internal Medicine Residency Program Director to lead its ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position offers a balanced role with approximately 50% protected administrative time dedicated to program leadership and 50% clinical practice, allowing the Program Director to remain actively engaged in patient care while shaping the future of graduate medical education. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced physician educator to influence resident training within a diverse, urban healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- 3 to 5 years of post-residency Internal Medicine clinical experience
- Core Faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
- Minimum 3 years of Program Director or Associate Program Director experience
- Demonstrated experience in resident and medical student education and mentorship
- Active record of scholarly activity, including research, publications, and presentations
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Inpatient clinical experience preferred
- Administrative and residency program leadership experience preferred
Responsibilities
- General administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the IM Residency Program
- Establish the strategic direction of the Program and be responsible for its standards, quality and reputation
- Support integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education
