The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a clinician-educator to practice and teach general internal medicine in a patient-centered medical home. This role will also serve as the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic Medical Director. The physician will provide care for patients at the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic, with opportunities for precepting residents and students. Faculty share responsibilities for night, weekend, and vacation coverage and will participate in decisions regarding practice operation. The clinician-educator will have opportunities for academic promotion based on excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar and are encouraged to collaborate on clinical research projects. Additionally, the physician will serve as the Anschutz Internal Medicine Clinic Medical Director, providing vision, direction, and support to clinic operations. This includes providing comprehensive care for adult patients, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and long-term management of acute and chronic conditions. The role involves consultation on quality initiatives, collaboration with the Clinic Residency Director for educational integration, participation in interviewing and selecting new faculty, providing new faculty orientation and supervision, and offering consultation for division goals related to productivity, hours, and revenue. The Medical Director will also lead the development of clinic plans for additional funding and may represent GIM Primary Care in various meetings. This role requires attending several routine meetings monthly.
