About The Position

RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise senior executives on communications gaps and opportunities; turn them into plans that keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged Lead change communications for company-wide and cross-division initiatives so employees understand what is changing, why, and what it means for their work Build a connected, unified culture across divisions, locations, and newly joined teams Develop and lead internal leadership speaking programs (live, filmed, and other formats) Set communications strategy and standards so teams use the right tools and channels to reach their audience Own and scale the company intranet for diverse organizations; establish style guides, templates, and practices that raise quality Manage internal communications in crises Shape key internal announcements and narratives Use AI to scale communications, improve quality, and increase impact Ensure internal and external messages are consistent Define how we measure communications and change efforts, and adjust accordingly

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in business/organizational communications
  • Available to travel to SpaceX locations as needed (<10%)
  • Ability to share writing samples and examples of previous internal communications campaigns, events, or leadership content
  • Based on-site in Hawthorne, CA or the Bay Area, CA. Remote or hybrid work will not be considered
  • Must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Expert self-starter with extreme ownership; identifies what needs to be done and drives it to completion with little direction
