Internal Communications Manager

About The Position

E-Space is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to programmatize internal communication and build a culture that sustains retention and belonging. This is a builder role focused on creating the infrastructure, cadences, and editorial strategy for internal communications. The role involves owning systems and channels for company-wide information flow and collaborating with the People team on culture programs. The position operates in an environment with competing demands, ambiguity, and high expectations, requiring comfort with making decisions without explicit permission. This role is internally focused due to the company being in Stealth Mode and will not involve external communications or PR. The position nominally reports to the Head of People but functions as a shared service between the executive leadership team and the broader company. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite in Arlington, TX offices.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in internal communications, culture, employee experience, or related function at a fast-paced tech or deep-tech company.
  • Demonstrated track record of building or significantly scaling an internal communications program.
  • Experience producing or owning high-quality All Hands meetings, quarterly business reviews, or similar large-scale company moments.
  • Track record of building culture programs that genuinely moved the needle.
  • Comfort working with AI tools in communications.
  • Experience operating effectively in high-ambiguity environments; comfort with incomplete information and founder-led decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong executive presence: able to interface with founder/CEO and exec leadership with judgment and confidence.
  • Ruthless about prioritization: can hold both strategy and execution, articulate a long-term vision AND execute the details.
  • Skilled at influencing without authority.
  • Genuine love of talking to people: curiosity about what makes teams tick, what employees care about, and how to translate that into programs and messaging.
  • High attention to detail, strong editorial judgment, and ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling language.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and moving fast.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing or owning an AI-related narrative strongly preferred.
  • Video editing, design fluency, or other production skills a plus.
  • Prior experience operating in a founder-led or high-ambiguity scaling environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own E-Space's internal communications operating model: channels, cadences, content types, and editorial calendar.
  • Own the strategy and execution of key company moments: All Hands meetings, quarterly business reviews, org announcements, exec updates, and crisis communications.
  • Build and maintain an internal intranet/knowledge hub.
  • Create repeatable playbooks and templates for recurring programs.
  • Partner with exec leadership to turn strategy and initiatives into clear, compelling stories.
  • Help E-Space employees understand business direction, its importance, and how their work connects to the mission.
  • Design and execute programs that build belonging and retention: team celebrations, recognition initiatives, cross-functional gatherings, and rituals.
  • Own employer brand on external sites, published information and careers pages.
  • Lead change communications for key initiatives.
  • Be a practitioner of culture: talk to people across levels and functions, surface team concerns, and translate them into programs and messaging.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure communications align with company values and business moments.
  • Own trade-offs and prioritize competing requests, establishing a cadence for what gets done and communicating these decisions clearly.
  • Establish scope by developing the communications calendar and setting realistic delivery expectations.
  • Navigate incomplete information, making editorial and strategic calls and iterating as needed.
  • Build cross-functional alignment without formal authority, coordinating with various teams and surfacing conflicts.
  • Scale yourself by identifying high-leverage activities and architecting delegation strategies as the role grows.
  • Work closely with the CEO and exec team to develop messaging frameworks for key announcements.
  • Provide editorial feedback and counsel on executive communications.
  • Produce high-quality content: exec talking points, all-hands presentations, recorded messages, and email campaigns.
  • Help leadership stay aware of how messaging lands internally and serve as a translator between executive intent and employee experience.
  • Use AI tools in the craft of internal communications: drafting, editing, repurposing content, generating talking points, and scaling comms.
  • Help establish how AI augments human-centered comms at E-Space and shape the company's internal AI narrative.
  • Stay current with evolving AI tools and experiment with using AI to reduce manual work while maintaining an authentic voice.
