Internal Communications Lead

Food LifelineSeattle, WA
$87,000 - $97,000

About The Position

At Food Lifeline, great communication is about helping people understand priorities, stay aligned, make better decisions, and work together more effectively in service of our mission. We're creating a new Internal Communications Lead role to build and strengthen how information flows across our organization and help our teams communicate clearly and consistently with agency network and community partners. This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll help establish the systems, practices, and rhythms that improve organizational clarity while partnering closely with the CEO, Chief Administrative Officer, Executive Team, and leaders across the organization. This is a highly collaborative individual contributor role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. One day you might be helping prepare a CEO message, facilitating communication around a major organizational initiative, or helping a team make complex information clearer and more useful for our agency partners. The next, you might be building templates, streamlining communication processes, coaching leaders on effective messaging, or identifying ways to make information easier for staff to find and understand. Success in this role isn't measured by the number of emails you send. It's measured by whether people across the organization have greater clarity about where we're going, why decisions are being made, and how to do their work effectively. You might be a great fit if you: Enjoy turning complexity into clarity. See communication as a tool for improving organizational effectiveness. Naturally notice when processes, messages, or systems create unnecessary confusion - and enjoy fixing them. Are equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up your sleeves to write, edit, organize, and execute. Build trusted relationships across departments and know how to influence without formal authority. Thrive in environments where no two days look exactly alike and where you'll help shape how the role evolves over time. This is a unique opportunity to help build an important organizational function while working closely with senior leaders on initiatives that directly support Food Lifeline's mission and impact. This could be a great next step for a strong communications professional who is ready to take on broader organizational responsibility and help shape an internal communications function from the ground up.
