About The Position

CompassX is seeking a motivated, internally facing Business Analyst to learn the operational intricacies of the firm across Consulting Operations, Sales, Talent, and other functions. The role involves gaining hands-on experience with current processes, identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and implementing solutions. This is a high-visibility position with direct exposure to firm leadership, offering the opportunity to shape how CompassX operates. The analyst will be responsible for understanding processes from the ground up, diagnosing issues, proposing fixes, and building solutions, which may include new processes, documentation, or lightweight automation. The role requires a proactive individual who can operate in an ambiguous environment and is comfortable with a mix of tasks, from strategic improvements to administrative work.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in operations, business analysis, process improvement, or a similar hands-on role - new grads strongly encouraged to apply.
  • A genuine curiosity for how things work, and the instinct to diagnose the root cause rather than just patch the symptom.
  • Comfortable using (or quickly learning) a CRM, spreadsheet tools, and lightweight automation/AI tools.
  • Excellent written communication - comfortable documenting processes clearly and presenting recommendations.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented - you like understanding systems and making them better.
  • A confident and diplomatic communicator - you'll be working across teams and leadership, tactfully and persistently.
  • Takes initiative without being asked, identifies opportunities, and moves work forward independently.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, shifting priorities, and quickly learning new tools or approaches.
  • No ego about the work - you'll take on a genuine mix of tasks, from high-visibility process improvements to basic administrative work, and treat both with the same care.

Responsibilities

  • Get hands-on across teams - Consulting Operations, Sales, Talent, and beyond - to genuinely understand how work moves before trying to change it.
  • Identify where processes are inefficient, inconsistent, or breaking down, and diagnose why.
  • Bring forward clear, practical recommendations for how to fix what's broken or slow.
  • Build and implement the fix yourself — whether that's a new process, a piece of documentation, or a lightweight automation.
  • Document how key processes work, so decisions and institutional knowledge don't live only in one person's head.
  • Partner with leadership and team leads across functions to understand priorities and turn them into real, working improvements.
  • Use CRM, spreadsheets, and lightweight automation/AI tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Claude, Gemini, Google Apps Script) as needed to bring recommendations to life.
