2027 Summer Internship
About The Position
Join us for the 2027 Internship Season! Internship opportunities are available in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geographic Information Systems, Legal, and more. Interns will learn the intricacies of construction work and road construction projects, assist professionals in project layout and coordination, and work with local external vendors and contract companies on road projects. They will also learn to coordinate various disciplines and skills through the design and construction of a ground-up engineering project, and gain experience in cross-functional collaboration and teaming through intern group projects. All interns will create and give a presentation on their completed projects at the end of the internship. Assignments may vary based on division and current road projects.
Requirements
- Available and able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with a range of expected overtime (varies per department)
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to communicate positively with concerned citizens/residents
- Possess strong organizational skills and complete all work in a timely manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Work zone safety knowledge
- Able to collaborate and flourish in a team setting
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid Driver’s License
