About The Position

This position performs center level accounting for leases, fixed assets, inventory, medical director fees in compliance with DaVita policies and procedures. The Intern (Non-Exempt) position supports accounting documentation projects as assigned, including ad hoc and recurring processes and/or special projects. The role involves performing daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly transactions objectively and productively according to department policies and procedures, coordinating and communicating with teammates to ensure process consistency, and planning, scheduling, and facilitating meetings and teambuilding activities as necessary. The position also requires responding to customer requests and attending customer meetings in a timely manner, identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, and reporting workplace injuries to management or People Services immediately. Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility. Travel is required up to 25%. Other duties and responsibilities include working overtime with little or no notice as needed, attending team meetings, phone conferences, and training, cross-training within General Accounting, and knowing, understanding, and following teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Business (Accounting) completed or in progress required
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in pursuing a professional certification (CPA/CIA/CFE) preferred
  • Prior experience writing reports and correspondence preferred
  • Highly organized and deadline oriented with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills; able to work well with all levels of management and teammates
  • Professional presence and excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Support accounting documentation projects as assigned to include ad hoc and recurring processes and/or special projects to be determined
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly transactions objectively and productively according to department policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate with other teammates to ensure the consistency of processes
  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate meetings and teambuilding activities as necessary
  • Respond to customer requests and attend customer meetings in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
  • Report workplace injuries to a member of the management team or People Services immediately
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position
