About The Position

CAPTRUST is offering a paid internship that will provide exposure to the inner workings of a wealth management firm. This position will be trained in different aspects of M&A, wealth management, integrations, and management. Hands-on learning starts day one in this fast-paced environment. The intern will also be trained in multiple software programs used throughout the firm. This role will be supervised by various CAPTRUST team members. This will be a full-time position between June and August with the ability to accommodate a class workload. Completion of an internship may lead to, but does not guarantee, future full-time employment.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing undergraduate/graduate degree from an accredited institution, college, or university
  • Any school of business majors (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred)
  • Significant interest in the workings of financial planning and wealth management and intend to pursue the CFP designation upon graduation
  • Strong self-starter
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask with proven ability to plan and achieve results
  • Demonstrate high work ethics and integrity
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information
  • Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage multiple reporting relationships
  • Ability to build successful, collaborative, and trusting relationships

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for acquisition targets
  • Valuation of acquisition targets and deal structuring
  • Evaluation of financial models and qualitative data
  • Preparation for management meetings and prospecting calls
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis
  • Helping with administrative and planning items as needed
  • Assist Director of Integrations with projects and administrative items as needed
  • Assist West/Mid-West Regional Leader and his team as needed
  • Support sales and planning efforts as needed
  • Attend client meetings in a support role including meeting preparation and follow-up activities
  • Assist with gathering client information and creation of high-quality retirement plans
  • Learn portfolio management systems
