Summer 2027 Internship - Minneapolis
About The Position
Discover what it’s like to be part of the world's largest privately held commercial insurance brokerage – all while gaining meaningful experience to help launch your career. The internship program includes one-on-one mentorship, professional development workshops, sessions with senior leadership, networking opportunities, and social and volunteer events. Interns will be embedded within a Lockton account team in Risk Solutions or People Solutions to support day-to-day activities that help deliver exceptional client service and account management. They will participate in client-focused projects and meetings, learn about carrier relationships, and support the preparation of proposals and presentations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student scheduled to graduate Dec 2027 or May 2028
- Experience working in customer service and project management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship now or at any time in the future
Nice To Haves
- Preferred majors include insurance, risk management, marketing, finance, or any other business-related field
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day activities within a Lockton account team in Risk Solutions or People Solutions to deliver exceptional client service and account management.
- Participate in client-focused projects and meetings to gain firsthand exposure to brokerage operations and how Lockton provides tailored risk and insurance solutions.
- Learn how Lockton leverages strong carrier relationships to provide creative solutions that deliver long-term value, helping clients achieve their business objectives.
- Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other materials used to serve and retain clients.
- Tackle a real-world challenge facing Lockton and the insurance industry in a group project.
- Explore different specialty areas of the business through weeklong case studies and work to solve client issues.
- Discover career paths within Lockton and the insurance industry through various sessions and activities.
