About Marie Philip School: MPS enrolls nearly 150 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model. POSITION SUMMARY: The Learning Center for the Deaf Intern provides support across multiple departments, gaining hands-on experience in daily business operations, project execution, and administrative functions, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the TLC's goals and processes.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and eager to learn new things
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language preferred, with willingness to learn required
  • ASL Classes may be required based on ASL fluency

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diverse projects and tasks, rotating through different functions as needed.
  • Conduct research, gather data, and help prepare reports, presentations, or meeting materials.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling, filing, organizing documents, and managing calendars.
  • Support team members with data entry, tracking, and maintaining internal systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, offering ideas and taking notes.
  • Shadow experienced professionals to learn best practices and organizational workflows.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the department, and organization.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Department Supervisor and/or Program Leader.
