About The Position

TechTown Detroit's internship program is a 15-week cohort that provides each student with real-life, hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, and the opportunity to meet people in roles across the organization and our partners. The Intern must bring a positive attitude, a “can-do” spirit, and high energy, alongside attention to detail. We are hiring interns for the following departments: Ops+, MarCom, and BSE.

Requirements

Must be a current Wayne State University student enrolled in a degree-seeking program.
A detail-oriented and flexible attitude
High energy while maintaining professionalism and the ability to handle a multitude of tasks supporting clerical, administrative, and project management functions.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and communication background.
Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
The ability to commit to up to a 15-week internship during either the Fall, Winter, or Summer semesters.

Nice To Haves

Ops+: Exposure and interest in either accounting or HR.

Responsibilities

Ops+: Help with developing communications, building SOPs, and gaining experience with entry-level HR and finance work.
MarCom: Capture additional content (for social), help edit and update website content, assist in building assets in Canva, and help organize Flickr. Work on any company-wide ad-hoc projects that come up.
BSE: Assist with day-of events such as First Thursdays, company-wide training sessions, resource tabling events, etc.
Applies to All Departments: Must actively work on daily assignments and by the end of the internship have completed and prepared to present your internship project.
Other duties as assigned.
