Interns will also have the opportunity to attend court hearings or arguments. CPCS is committed to equal justice and human dignity, zealously advocating for clients' rights and promoting just public policy. The agency provides legal representation when required by the state or federal constitution or statute for individuals who cannot afford an attorney, covering a wide range of case types including criminal, delinquency, family regulation, and mental health matters. The Innocence Program specifically focuses on litigating meritorious innocence claims at trial and appellate levels, supervising attorneys, and administering funds for post-conviction investigation and forensic testing.
