About The Position

Work with the Internet Security Group in SRI International’s Computer Science Laboratory, where cutting-edge research meets real-world impact. From securing critical systems to shaping the future of resilient networks, we tackle some of the most challenging problems in cybersecurity today. We are seeking a highly motivated graduate student researcher for a summer internship focused on high-performance, hardware-accelerated network monitoring. In this role, you’ll design and prototype systems leveraging technologies like P4, DPDK, SmartNICs, and GPUs to enable scalable, real-time security analytics. The student will collaborate with leading researchers, contribute to active projects, and gain hands-on experience building systems that push the limits of throughput, latency, and visibility in modern networks. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful, mission-driven research while gaining exposure to multiple projects and state-of-the-art platforms. You will be part of a collaborative, innovation-driven environment with opportunities to publish, prototype, and influence future directions in network security. The Intern will be able to work fully remotely.
