About The Position

ABC 7/WJLA 24/7 News offers a limited number of unpaid spring internships for students interested in careers in broadcast or cable television. Selected interns experience the day-to-day operations of a major-market television station as a supplement to their academic curriculum. Internship areas include Desk/Digital News, Sports News, and Producing. This is an in-person internship, and students living in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area are highly preferred. Interns must receive academic credit from their college or university and will not receive wages, salary, or a stipend. Applicants must submit a resume by December 18, 2026. Interns interested in Good Morning Washington must also be able to work early mornings. Sinclair is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.

Requirements

• Be an upcoming junior or senior enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program at an accredited college or university; first-year graduate students may apply, and students entering their second year in a two-year junior or community college program may also be considered.
• Have a declared major in journalism, meteorology, communication, or a similar related area.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be a current college student with a strong academic record.
• Be able to receive college credit for the internship.
• Have prior internship and/or work experience.
• Be responsible and professional, with a terrific attitude and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Be a creative self-starter who communicates effectively and works well under constant deadlines.
• Submit a resume by December 18, 2026.
• For Good Morning Washington, be able to work early mornings.
