About The Position

The Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream (MCAAD) is seeking a paid Intern to support the Center’s team in Washington, DC. The Intern will provide general support, including conducting research, updating databases and contact lists, offering on-site operational assistance, and helping team members prepare for meetings and follow-up. Additional duties may involve filing, scanning, organizing records, assisting with event and public-program logistics, registration, materials, and guest check-in, supporting development, marketing, and educational efforts, and general office needs. The Intern will report to the President of MCAAD and will support MCAAD leaders and staff on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

  • Working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree
  • Ability to multi-task while handling complex projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and hard worker displaying high productivity and follow-through in all areas of responsibility
  • A team-oriented individual who seeks out tasks when work is completed and assists co-workers to ensure goals, requirements and deadlines are achieved
  • An attitude of "no job is too small" and attention to detail that ensures rewarding experiences and outcomes for supporters and other stakeholders
  • Skilled at working with people and able to interact positively with all levels of an organization
  • Effective oral/written communication and data management abilities
  • Ability to use critical, creative thinking to solve problems large and small
  • Ability to work independently, both in the office and from home; the intern must produce quality work under minimal supervision during any periods of working remotely
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
