About The Position

This internship position is for the Summer session (May - August) and involves a variety of engineering-related activities to support the design, construction, or maintenance of state highway construction projects. Interns will enhance their knowledge and abilities in the civil engineering field. Specific duties may include participating on a survey crew, materials testing, project inspection, data collection and verification, or other engineering-related activities. Duties are primarily performed outdoors and are physical in nature.

Requirements

• Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in the upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester.
• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
