About The Position

Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann. As a Trade Compliance Intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into US import and export trade compliance regulations and related process management at Hussmann.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relocate, if not local

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations that will help you understand how global trade compliance impacts business from a legal and operational standpoint.
  • Brainstorm and utilize Excel and IT skills to assist the team in developing additional processes across the compliance organization to meet global compliance regulations and improve efficiency.
  • Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
  • Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.
  • Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.
  • Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.
  • Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation.
