About The Position

MedPro Group is an industry-leading Berkshire Hathaway insurance company seeking an intern to join their tax team. This is an onsite, year-round internship opportunity in Fort Wayne, IN. The ideal candidate will begin working part-time hours starting in August. The role involves preparing and filing tax returns and regulatory forms, assisting with income tax information, responding to notices from taxing authorities, researching tax topics, organizing historical documents, and learning finance software systems.

Requirements

• At least 1 year completed of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• An interest in data analytics and process improvement
• Self-motivation and ability to meet expectations while working independently and on teams
• Ability to learn and improve technical skills in MS Office Suite software such as Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to effectively manage assignments
• Year-round availability: 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week during the summer
• Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship, both now and in the future

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file various tax returns and regulatory forms
• Assist with income tax information gathering and review
• Track and respond to notices from taxing authorities
• Research and document wide-ranging tax topics
• Organize and store historical tax and regulatory documents
• Learn and improve skills with Microsoft Office and finance software systems
• Perform other duties as assigned
