Intern, Talent Acquisition

PlanetSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

As a Talent Acquisition Intern focused on employer branding, you will help modernize how Planet presents itself to the talent market. This includes refreshing content across our careers presence and recruiting channels, developing new assets that showcase what it’s like to work here, and supporting the publication of Planet’s AI policy and related thought leadership that positions us as a forward-thinking employer in the aerospace and AI space. You are not just writing copy — you are shaping how candidates experience Planet before they ever talk to a talent partner. This internship sits within the Talent Acquisition team, giving you direct exposure to how recruiting strategy, employer branding, and candidate experience connect. You will collaborate with talent partners who can tell you exactly what candidates ask about and what resonates, with the Marketing and Communications team on brand consistency, and with People Team leadership on the substance behind the messaging — including Planet’s AI strategy, values, and culture. You will report to a member of the Talent Acquisition leadership team. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Solid writing and content creation skills — you can craft compelling, authentic copy that speaks to a professional audience without sounding like corporate boilerplate.
  • An eye for visual storytelling — you are comfortable working with design tools, photo/video content, or collaborating with designers to bring stories to life.
  • Interest in employer branding, talent marketing, or recruiting — you understand that how a company presents itself to candidates directly affects who applies and who accepts.
  • Research skills to benchmark competitor employer brands, analyze what top companies are doing, and translate those insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Comfort working across multiple stakeholders — you will interact with recruiters, marketing, communications, and People Team leadership throughout this project.
  • Experience with content creation and publishing tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, and social media platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or project experience in employer branding, recruitment marketing, content marketing, or corporate communications.
  • A portfolio or samples of written content, social media campaigns, or visual storytelling work — even from academic or personal projects.
  • Interest in or knowledge of AI, aerospace, climate technology, or earth observation — you can speak authentically about why Planet’s mission matters.
  • Experience with video production or editing — even at a basic level — for creating employee spotlight or culture content.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Talent Insights, Glassdoor employer tools, or careers page analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Audit Planet’s current employer brand presence across careers pages, job postings, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other channels — identifying gaps, outdated content, and opportunities to better reflect who Planet is today.
  • Develop refreshed employer brand content including employee spotlight stories, team profiles, day-in-the-life features, and visual assets that give candidates an authentic view of the culture, work, and mission.
  • Support the development and publication of Planet’s AI policy for talent-facing channels — helping translate internal AI strategy into external messaging that positions Planet as a leader in responsible AI adoption.
  • Create content that highlights Planet’s unique differentiators as an employer — including the mission-driven PBC model, the intersection of hardware and software, the Berlin manufacturing expansion, and the opportunity to work on technology that monitors the entire planet.
  • Research employer branding best practices across comparable technology, aerospace, and mission-driven companies — identifying what top talent responds to and what channels drive the highest-quality candidate engagement.
  • Partner with talent partners to understand which messages and content formats resonate most with candidates at different stages of the funnel — from awareness to application to offer acceptance.
  • Develop a content calendar and publishing plan that the Talent Acquisition team can sustain beyond the internship, creating a repeatable framework rather than one-time assets.
  • Contribute to social media content for recruiting channels, including LinkedIn posts, job fair materials, and campus recruiting collateral.

Benefits

  • Commuter Benefits
  • Paid time off for holidays and company-wide days off
  • Internet reimbursement
