JOB DESCRIPTION: The Systems Development Engineer is an experienced engineer who identifies and defines technical requirements for electronic or mechanic brake system components. Evaluates different concepts with respect to technological and commercial aspects. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Gather customer (Internal/External) requirements for the design of rail braking systems and components. Prepare technical proposals including clause-by-clause comments to customer specifications. Prepare systems documentation including system and subsystem level requirements specifications, schematics, manuals etc. Define and perform commissioning tests for rail vehicle braking systems. Perform functional and software verification testing. Assist senior engineers and field service engineering staff. Develop interface communication documents. Perform system-level Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). Make technical presentations to internal stakeholders and customers in support of sales. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
