About The Position
This internship in Respiratory Therapy at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, involves evaluating and providing respiratory care for patients within the student's scope of practice. The intern will administer respiratory medications and treatments under appropriate supervision, monitor and document patient conditions, and educate patients on respiratory diseases, medications, treatments, and home care.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluated and provided respiratory care for patients within student scope of practice.
- Administered respiratory medications and treatments under appropriate supervision.
- Monitored, documented, and communicated patient condition and response to therapy.
- Educated patients on respiratory diseases, medications, treatments, and home care.
