About The Position
This is an intern position in the Respiratory Therapy department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The intern will provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments under supervision, delivering and assessing patient response to ordered therapy, monitoring and communicating patient condition, and providing patient education.
Requirements
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- High school diploma equivalency AND Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.
Responsibilities
- Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments based on patient outcomes, under appropriate supervision.
- Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
