The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Resource Center is a trusted place where warriors and their families get answers, find support, and connect with local and national programs and services, both internal and external, tailored to their needs. By understanding each unique situation, the team connects individuals with services that help them feel better, strengthen relationships, maximize veteran benefits, and have support at every stage of their journey. The Resource Center Intern will support day-to-day functions and assist WWP Program teams. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization through administrative support, researching and engaging with organizations for the referral database, and assisting with presentations and reports, while gaining exposure to multiple WWP programs and directorates through cross-functional collaboration. APPLICANT ALERT: This is a paid internship opportunity for qualified applicants, and requires in-person attendance, three days each week at our Jacksonville, Florida location. This is not a virtual position.

Requirements

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, working environment.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.
  • High energy level.
  • Self- starter; willing to take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Mission-driven, guided by core values, and a pleasure to work with.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an office, academic, or volunteer setting involving organizing files, managing information, or performing administrative tasks.
  • Experience volunteering with a nonprofit, community service, or mission-driven organization.
  • None.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative tasks, including organizing materials, shared drives, and files.
  • Support the creation of engaging presentations and reports.
  • Conduct in-depth research on organizations for inclusion in the referral database.
  • Communicate with representatives from external organizations to support inclusion in the referral database.
  • Learn about multiple programs and directorates within Wounded Warrior Project through direct engagement.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
