About The Position

LSS Summit Oaks seeks a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team and make a significant impact in the lives of teens and their families. This is a paid internship opportunity for individuals interested in enhancing their education in the mental health or social services field. The position offers full-time or part-time internship availability, with typical hours being evenings between 1pm-11pm, including weekends and holidays. The salary ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a college program requiring an internship.
• Requires active auto-insurance.
• A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.
• Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks for criminal convictions, behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.

Responsibilities

• Provide residential care to youth ages 10 to 17 that have a variety of mental health, behavioral, substance abuse and legal issues.
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Conduct groups.
• Supervise youth in community settings.
• Provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling.
