About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is seeking a graduate-level intern for its Research Information Services group within the Research Department. This internship focuses on working with the Bank Archivist to process, describe, and preserve physical and digital collections within the Archives. The program offers a prestigious, cohort-based experience with meaningful work, dedicated staff mentors, and opportunities for professional growth and networking across the Federal Reserve System. The internship is a paid, full-time summer position lasting approximately 10-12 weeks, beginning in mid-to-late May and concluding in August. This specific position is located in the Dallas office.

Requirements

Enrolled in a Master’s degree program in library or information science at an ALA-accredited institution (MLS), graduating summer 2026 or later.
Knowledge and interest in library and archives technology.
A minimum of 15-20 credits in foundational library science coursework completed by the start of the internship.
Attention to detail, initiative, and good communication skills.
Basic understanding of metadata.
Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Process, describe, and preserve both physical and digital collections within the Archives.
Appraisal, arrangement, and description processes of physical collections.
Digital archival processes for born and digitized collections, using Preservica.
Implement preservation strategies for efficient retention and preservation of permanent and historical records.
Creation of finding aids.
Participate in artifact and digital asset management activities.
