About The Position

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Regulatory & Government Affairs Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support the monitoring, analysis, and management of telecom regulatory matters and government relations initiatives, gaining hands-on exposure to how spectrum policy, telecommunications regulation, and public affairs shape business strategy in a highly regulated industry.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Telecommunications, Economics, International Relations, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of regulatory processes, public policy, or the telecommunications sector
  • Interest in technology, digital policy, and the telecom industry
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or project experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, legal, or government relations preferred
  • Telecom or tech sector experience a plus
  • Additional languages a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track telecom regulatory developments, including spectrum allocation, licensing, interconnection, net neutrality, data protection, and consumer protection rules issued by national regulators and relevant authorities
  • Assist in the preparation of policy briefs, regulatory filings, consultation responses, and position papers on matters such as spectrum auctions, quality of service obligations, and market competition
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on telecom regulatory frameworks, licensing regimes, and government affairs best practices across relevant jurisdictions
  • Support the coordination of meetings and engagements with telecom regulators, ministries of communications, industry associations (e.g., GSMA, ITU-related bodies), and government officials
  • Help maintain regulatory trackers and documentation covering license obligations, reporting deadlines, spectrum fees, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Network, Commercial, Wholesale, Communications) to assess the impact of regulatory changes on network deployment, pricing, and customer offerings
  • Support analysis of emerging policy topics relevant to the telecom sector, such as 5G rollout, fiber deployment, digital infrastructure, AI regulation, and cybersecurity
  • Support the development and coordination of Liberty Caribbean Foundation outreach and initiatives
