Intern - Power Generation Engineer (Bath County Power Station)
About The Position
Dominion Energy Virginia is seeking a highly motivated Power Station Intern to support operations and maintenance activities at Bath County Power Station. This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a power generation environment while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple functional areas. The intern will assist teams in areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, and Technical Services. Responsibilities may include supporting equipment inspections, collecting and analyzing operational data, assisting with project research, participating in process improvement initiatives, and contributing to station reliability and performance efforts. Working under the guidance of station personnel, the intern will develop an understanding of power generation processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The intern will observe and participate in day-to-day plant activities, attend team meetings, and support projects that contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the station.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Expected graduation date of Fall 2028 or 2029.
- 2.5 GPA or above.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and continuous learning.
