About The Position

This 10-week internship program is designed for rising seniors in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or other analytical fields. Interns will complete innovative and meaningful project work in a collaborative environment, focused on developing technical and business skills. The role involves assessment of risk and financial needs for insurance products, development of innovative methods and applications to enhance insurance product pricing, data mining and predictive modeling, and research on emerging industry trends. Interns will receive extensive training and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Majors in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or other analytical fields
  • GPA of 3.25 minimum (unofficial transcripts required with application)
  • Experience with data and statistical analysis in Excel, SQL, R, and/or Python
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Successful completion of at least one Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society actuarial exam with intention to earn the ACAS/FCAS designation
  • At least one semester of college remaining after the summer of 2027
  • The desire to work for State Farm upon graduation
  • Eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity
