The Times of Northwest Indiana, a division of Lee Enterprises, is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, proactive and tech-savvy student journalist for a paid summer internship to contribute coverage about the growing, diverse communities around Northwest Indiana. Our general assignment reporting intern will be in the thick of it all and write multiple stories each week. They must be able to hit the ground running on the first day. As a result, they will walk away with a rewarding, real-world newsroom experience, a pile of great clips and the skills they need to develop into the next generation of journalists. The ideal intern will work alongside professional journalists, who will provide guidance, direction and support. They’ll also have access to Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who are part of the Lee Enterprises network in markets across the United States. Qualified applicants should be inquisitive self-starters who are capable of producing compelling content for our digital and print platforms. Interns should feel empowered to find and pitch great stories about our increasingly diverse communities. We want multitaskers who can juggle multiple assignments and embrace all facets of multimedia storytelling.
