About The Position

This internship program offers an opportunity to drive real change and shape Rio Tinto from the inside out. The role involves helping to take the company forward by solving emerging challenges. The focus for the internship will be the scoping and planning of a number of projects, including coordination of critical plant drawing updates, improvements to the plant dust collection systems, and plant safety initiatives on vehicle/pedestrian separation. The Strathcona Works facility is a small site with less than 25 employees, providing an opportunity to gain experience working in an operating plant and interacting with all levels (operations, maintenance, management, external stakeholders, and external contractors/suppliers).

Requirements

At least one year completed in a Mechanical Engineering degree or any other related field
Safety mindset
Leadership skills
Eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
Flexibility and Autonomy
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
Valid driving license
Right to work in Canada
Must be able to work full-time
