The Manufacturing Engineer Internship offers an exciting opportunity to jump-start your career at Stratasys! This hands-on role will immerse you in various areas of additive manufacturing, where you'll gain valuable experience working with cutting-edge technologies. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will join our team and contribute to the compounding process instructions and compounding bill of materials upgrades. This internship offers hands-on experience in manufacturing process design, optimization, and implementation within a high-tech environment. You’ll also get hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting material extrusion processes, working with advanced equipment and learning how to solve complex challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Must have completed at least two years of college (entering Junior or Senior year by Spring 2026)
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues while maintaining positive relationships
  • Creative, with a strong desire to deepen your understanding
  • Self-motivated, able to work effectively on projects with minimal supervision
  • Open to constructive feedback
  • Local to Minnesota or able to relocate without assistance to the Eden Prairie & Minnetonka, MN area

Nice To Haves

  • 3D CAD education or experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • 3D printing experience
  • Preferred Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production teams
  • Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Assist in creating detailed work instructions, process documentation, and fixturing
  • Process layout design and material flow optimization
  • Integration of tools, fixtures, and ergonomic considerations
