About The Position
For over 30 years, CarolinaPower has served the electrical construction and service needs of commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential customers throughout the Southeast. CarolinaPower's Intern / Management Trainee Program is designed to develop future construction project management and leadership talent through hands-on field experience, project exposure, and training in branch operations. Intern Track: Designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree who are interested in gaining real-world experience in electrical construction and project management. Management Trainee Track: Designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals seeking a long-term career in construction project management and leadership. Trainees will complete progressive field and operational assignments with the goal of assuming increased responsibility within MetroPower.
Requirements
- Quick learner with strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, personal integrity, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented construction environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (Management Trainee)
- Related construction experience may substitute for education (Management Trainee)
- Strong interest in a career in construction project management and leadership (Management Trainee)
- Willingness to travel and work in field environments (Management Trainee)
- Acceptable driving record (Management Trainee)

Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to electrical construction field operations and worksite safety
- Learn about materials, equipment, installation processes, and blueprint reading
- Understand project management, estimating, bidding, and scheduling
- Assist with material handling, order processing, and project documentation
- Support Quality Assurance/Quality Control and process improvement initiatives
- Engage in customer service and business operations
- Learn about leadership and CarolinaPower's Servant Leadership philosophy
- Undertake special projects, market research, and other assignments as needed
- Focus on learning, field exposure, and supporting project teams (Interns)
- Receive progressive training in project, operational, and leadership responsibilities (Management Trainees)
