Intern - Land Development

LJAHouston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Intern at LJA Land Development, you will gain hands-on exposure to real-world civil engineering projects in a collaborative environment. Our summer internship program runs from mid-May through the first week of August and is a fully in-person experience, working Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Interns are integrated into active project teams and work directly under the supervision of an Assistant Project Manager (APM) or Project Manager (PM), alongside Engineers in Training (EITs). Interns are given early exposure to ongoing projects and gradually assigned meaningful tasks and deliverables with guidance and support from their team. Throughout the summer, interns participate in structured learning and development opportunities designed to provide broad exposure to the firm and its services. This includes lunch-and-learn sessions across multiple disciplines (such as Land Development, Transportation, Public Works), job site visits, volunteer opportunities, and a formal mentorship program. At the conclusion of the program, interns deliver a final presentation highlighting their experience, key learnings, and contributions throughout the internship.
