About The Position

Nelnet is seeking motivated and passionate individuals to join their team as Interns in IT Software Engineering, focusing on .NET technologies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, contribute to real business needs, and develop professionally. Interns will work on enhancing and supporting internal and external web-based applications, participating in the full software development lifecycle from analysis and design to coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support. This specific internship is with the Nelnet Campus Commerce (NCC) product team, which is part of Nelnet Business Services (NBS) and focuses on higher education offerings. Nelnet emphasizes a collaborative and innovative environment where interns can learn new technologies, develop coding and evaluation skills, and participate in team activities like standup meetings and sprints. The program includes one-on-one mentorship, competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and intern-specific development events.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in an IT-related field including software development, computer science, or other related major.
  • General knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), computer information systems, and Agile approach.
  • Knowledge of computers, preferably Microsoft packages.
  • Advancement in programming language learning.
  • Motivated and excited by technical challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in creating and deploying software (e.g. internship, class-based project, personal project, research opportunity, non-profit work, etc.).
  • Experience solving complex problems and working through challenging requirements.
  • Experience with .NET and Angular.
