This internship will focus on supporting the IT Infrastructure team with daily operations, troubleshooting, and system maintenance while learning the foundational components of Alterman’s technology environment.
Requirements
- A current student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about networks, systems, and infrastructure tools
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a technical, fast-paced environment
- Undergrad Junior status or above
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to work within the hours of Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm Hours will vary and can be worked around course schedules.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic setup, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network devices
- Help monitor system performance, network connectivity, and device health
- Support troubleshooting activities by diagnosing user issues and documenting findings
- Participate in routine tasks such as patching, updates, backups, and inventory tracking
- Assist with user account management tasks within Active Directory, O365, or Intune under supervision
- Observe and support infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server improvements, or device deployments
- Follow IT security practices and help ensure compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards
