Program Structure: Duration/Schedule: Flexible part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer months. Requirements

  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Monitor server health and performance
  • Check system alerts, logs, disk usage, CPU/memory utilization
  • Escalate issues to senior engineers when thresholds are exceeded
  • Assist with server maintenance
  • Apply patches and updates (Windows/Linux)
  • Reboot servers during maintenance windows
  • Verify backups completed successfully
  • Help manage Active Directory accounts (creates, disables, group membership)
  • Assist with permissions for file shares and applications
  • Update server inventories and configuration documentation
  • Document troubleshooting steps and procedures
  • Assist with troubleshooting server-related tickets
  • Perform basic root-cause analysis with guidance
