About The Position

The Strategics Summer Internship Program at Strategic Investment Group (Strategic) is a 10-week rotational program designed for rising seniors passionate about investments, data, and making a real-world impact. The program runs from May 31, 2027, to August 6, 2027. Strategic is an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) firm that provides institutions with the capabilities of a full investment office, acting as a seamless extension of clients' investment teams. They offer portfolio construction, manager selection, and ongoing risk management within a structured fiduciary framework. The internship provides hands-on experience working directly on client portfolios across various asset classes, mentorship from experts, structured growth through asset class training and workshops, a research project presented to firm leadership, and professional development opportunities. Interns will also experience the company's collaborative, mission-driven culture through social events and community service.

Requirements

  • Rising seniors pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Accounting.
  • Academically strong (3.5+ GPA preferred).
  • Passionate about markets, investments, and solving complex problems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communicators who thrive in collaborative environments.
  • Basic understanding of financial markets and a strong interest in investments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • High integrity and ethical values.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship without requiring new employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Python, SQL, or R.
  • Interest in pursuing the CFA designation.
  • Prior internships or exposure to financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly on client portfolios across public equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and real assets.
  • Lead a deep-dive research project, analyze data, and present insights to the firm.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist with presentations.
  • Gain a broad perspective by rotating through public equity, hedge funds, private markets, and fixed income teams.
