About The Position

This is an intern position in General Radiology at UAB St Vincent's St Clair. The schedule is PRN, with evening and weekend shifts. The intern will provide services to patients under direct supervision, prepare and position patients, select exposure factors accurately, implement radiation protection and safety standards, assist supervising technologists and physicians in imaging procedures, and prepare and administer contrast media and medications. The intern will also assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department.

Requirements

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High school diploma equivalency AND enrolled in an accredited program specific to discipline.

Responsibilities

Provide services to patients under the direct supervision.
Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
