We are looking for an intern to help us grow as we ramp up hiring in our production groups. We are looking for a go getter who can take new tasks head on. We are excited and ready to train this intern to the needs of the role and assist in advancing your knowledge for a future career in HR. In this role you will learn: What it means to be a business partner to the organization. What goes into hiring an employee. Sourcing candidates for open jobs and the importance of talent pipelines. How an HR office runs with the many compliance, administrative, and support functions required. Why community partnerships are important. How to support staff with empathy, a partnership focus, and objective decision making. Work schedule will be flexible each semester based on class schedule with Monday morning required and 4-5 hours per day the rest of the week (Monday-Friday only). Set work schedule will be further discussed during the interview. Flexibility is necessary in our HR department as we support a 24/7 site. This role is available to local candidates and is 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree or higher with a Human Resources or Business degree focus is required.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Suite.
  • Skilled in Excel with creating, modifying, and running reports.
  • Customer service focused with an ability to conversate with various personality types.
  • Successful demonstration of communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving skills to support site needs and determine top candidates for the job at hand.
  • Adaptability to where your support is needed most and able to multitask.
  • Lead with a positive attitude.
  • Punctuality in work schedule and task completion.
  • Ready to try something new and learn!

  • Preference will go to those having completed HR classes thus far.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and increase your knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Manage recruiting efforts primarily for our production business unit.
  • Input job descriptions and start the approval process.
  • Filter top candidates.
  • Conduct phone screens and interviews.
  • Schedule candidate testing and interviews for the hiring team.
  • Coordinate preemployment requirements for new hires.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks.
  • Provide support on additional requisitions as needed.
  • Assist the HR team in data entry needs for the Workday system.
  • Lead in organizing and maintaining both physical and digital records.
  • Support partnership activities with local K-12 and post-secondary education.
  • Attend job fairs and outreach events with team.
  • Be flexible to project needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects.
