About The Position

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s People & Culture team is seeking a student to join us for our Fall 2026 internship! Join our team this fall to develop your skills in recruiting, talent acquisition, and employee experience. You will engage with candidates, collaborate with departments across the organization, and support initiatives that help create a positive and efficient hiring process. The Fall internship program runs from August 24th, 2026, through December 4th, 2026. Interns will have access to professional development workshops, networking opportunities, resume reviews, and other activities designed to enrich their experience. Program perks include paid downtown parking and tickets to a Thunder home game during the season!

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive course credit for the internship
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Timely communication regarding scheduling and availability
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for occasional local travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Students pursuing a degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating, updating, and posting job opportunities across multiple job boards and internal systems
  • Monitor the employment inbox and respond to candidate questions in a timely manner
  • Review phone interviews and Harver video interviews while summarizing candidate’s applications for hiring teams
  • Schedule interviews and conduct phone screenings with candidates
  • Initiate reference checks through Crosschq
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to support the hiring process, including holding introductory and midpoint meetings with hiring managers
  • Attend and engage in weekly department meetings
  • Participate in cross-departmental shadowing opportunities within People & Culture
  • Contribute to brainstorming and planning sessions during reoccurring committee meetings
  • Assist with planning and executing employee events, including event setup and teardown
  • Represent the organization at career fairs and community events
  • Support one community engagement event, such as a Rolling Thunder Book Bus or Thunder Fellows
  • Perform other administrative tasks and projects as assigned
