We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our team at the NJ Headquarters (onsite). This internship is designed for a student pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting. The intern will gain experience and knowledge in the world of Payroll Tax, which includes Federal, State and Local taxation.
Requirements
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program majoring in Finance or Accounting.
- Technical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of Excel.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and find variances with the provided tools.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in obtaining login/password information for state and local jurisdictions, across six companies.
- Respond and manage tax notices as received, as well as help clean up historical notices.
- Ensure tax compliance with state and local agencies via research and phone calls.
- Run reports and create spreadsheets for quarterly and annual balancing.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and provide consistent progress updates to leadership.
- Help with process improvements as requested.
- Create documentation and user guides for newly developed processes.
- Payroll administrative work, as needed.
