About The Position

Since its launch in 2007, the Publix Summer Internship Program prepares a cohort of young professionals for a smorgasbord of opportunities in the workplace. This is achieved through relationship building, development of self-confidence, and insight into industry knowledge. The 2026 Summer program dates are May 18 th – July 24 th at our company facilities in Lakeland, FL. Over these 10 weeks, interns will work 40 hours a week participating in impactful departmental projects that connect classroom learning to real-world corporate experience. Position Overview Within our Human Resource department, the education and training development teams design, create, and implement training solutions that empower our associates to deliver on our promise to provide premier customer service and be the premier quality food retailer in the world. The training development intern will have several responsibilities.

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in technical writing, instructional design, instructional technology, journalism, graphics design, communications, or English and be a current sophomore or above (rising junior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • ability to organize and create written documentation
  • high level of maturity and ability to work independently
  • willingness to be flexible to shift priorities in an agile fashion
  • willing to receive and act on constructive feedback
  • ability to organize information in a logistical manne

Responsibilities

  • creates reference-based, procedural content into a digital format using SharePoint and HTML/XML
  • creates various training solutions, including job aids, facilitator materials, and computer-based training courses
  • actively participates in departmental meetings
  • supports work study efforts through research, analysis, and development of training solutions
