About The Position

The Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team is looking for Fall interns! Amentum has supported many marquee NASA programs, including the Space Launch System (SLS) and the International Space Station. We work collaboratively with the NASA customer in an integrated environment to provide GN&C system design, analysis, and integration support for applications including satellites, lunar landers, and launch vehicles.

Requirements

Undergraduate student currently enrolled in science, technical, engineering, math or related degree program leading to a BS degree is required.
Must be able to provide own transportation.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have the ability to multi-task and transition between assignments
Show initiative, be proactive and detail oriented
Work independently and collaboratively
Have completed sophomore year of university studies and be in good academic standing
Maintain an overall average of 3.0
Demonstrate strong technical aptitude
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

An ABET accredited institution is preferred.

Responsibilities

Model, simulate, and analyze vehicle and spacecraft dynamics
Analysis of launch vehicle and spacecraft multi-body dynamics, equations of motion, and trajectories to assess contact and clearance during liftoff, separation, and jettison events
Develop, modify, and maintain software simulators, tools, and scripts
Create, edit, and debug software written in Python, C/C++, Matlab, and Simulink
Support verification and validation of technical products
Prepare and present technical reports and/or briefings
Create and review engineering and software documentation
