About The Position

We are seeking a motivated high school student to join our team through a work study program. This role offers exposure to agricultural operations, administrative duties, safety practices, and professional development in a supportive environment.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a participating high school work-study program
• Authorization from school counselor or program coordinator
• Ability to work part-time during school hours or after school

Responsibilities

• Learn about CHS’s cooperative model and role in agriculture and energy.
• Develop workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management.
• Engage in mentorship opportunities and career exploration activities.
• Assist with basic operational tasks such as organizing tools, cleaning workspaces, and preparing equipment under supervision.
• Shadow experienced staff in agronomy, grain, or energy operations to learn about agricultural processes and logistics.
• Gain knowledge of general agriculture skills such as scouting, crop protection products, crop nutrient products, seed, custom application procedures, mixing procedures, truck driving, and delivering products.
• Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for all agronomy equipment including legs, conveyors, towers, vehicles, sprayers, floaters, trucks, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
• Develop skills in industry specific areas.
• Always follow all CHS safety protocols and procedures.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when in designated work areas.
