Intern - Generation Fleet Engineer
About The Position
Dominion Energy is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support operations, maintenance, and engineering activities across the company's power generation fleet based in Richmond, VA. The intern will work with engineering and station teams supporting stations in Chesapeake, Covington, and Surry, Virginia. This role provides hands-on experience in power generation while contributing to projects that support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of generating assets. The intern will assist with data collection and analysis, equipment inspections, project research, process improvement initiatives, and technical documentation. Opportunities may include supporting plant systems, evaluating equipment performance, and participating in engineering, maintenance, and operational projects across multiple generating stations.
Requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn and apply engineering concepts in a power generation environment
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Expected graduation date of Fall 2028 or 2029
- 3.0 GPA or above
