About The Position
Actalent’s 10-week summer sales internship is an hourly paid program for students interested in sales, business development, and client engagement. The internship emphasizes lead generation, account outreach, and customer relationship building, while also providing foundational experience in recruiting. Interns receive training and mentorship through shadowing and coaching, and work alongside the local team to support business, consultants, and clients. The program includes sales and business development activities, recruiting and talent sourcing, and daily and weekly learning sessions. Interns collaborate with peers on group challenges and business simulations and complete a capstone project to present at the end of the internship. Compensation is $19.23 per hour, with a maximum of 40 hours per week for 10 weeks. Telecommuting is not available.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a rising senior.
- Strong interest in sales and business or client development.
- Competitive, motivated, and comfortable working toward activity goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking ability.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

- Prior customer service, campus leadership, or sales experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify and qualify potential clients.
- Support account executives with lead research, market mapping, and target list development.
- Learn to make sales calls, craft outreach messages, and nurture early-stage client relationships.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and client materials.
- Participate in sales meetings, deal strategy sessions, and pipeline reviews.
- Shadow sales professionals on client calls or visits to understand the sales cycle.
- Track activity metrics and provide weekly progress updates on outreach and lead generation.
- Source and screen candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and internal databases.
- Review resumes and conduct initial phone screens to assess candidates’ skills, interests, and job fit.
- Support recruiters in managing interviews, follow-ups, and candidate communications.
- Assist in writing and posting job descriptions and candidate outreach messages.
- Learn recruiting lifecycle fundamentals, including client meetings, qualification, negotiations, and offer processes.
- Participate in daily and weekly learning sessions on sales tactics, recruiting best practices, and professional development.
- Complete a capstone project and present it at the end of the internship.
- Collaborate with peers on group challenges and business simulations.
